It’s hard to believe that it’s been only five years since Dustin Payseur started Beach Fossils as a solo project for his music. Since then, though, the band’s laid-back, surfy take on indie pop has grown into something else entirely. In those five years, Payseur has matured considerably as a songwriter, and while the band may have changed personnel over the years, Payseur’s steady presence have kept the band great through two albums and an endless number of live shows. The band really shines on-stage, too; they’re definitely not laid-back when they’re playing in front of a crowd. They’ll be playing at Chicago’s Bottom Lounge soon with Heavenly Beat (the side project of Fossils bassist John Peña) and Axxa/Abraxxas, and we honestly can’t wait. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Bottom Lounge website.
