Both John McEuen and David Amram are lifelong devotees to American music and its traditions. Over the course of the past five decades, from his years in the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to his more recent work with his family on the excellent For All The Good, McEuen’s skills at in interpreting folk and Americana for new generations are as sharp as ever. In Amram, McEuen has a maverick kindred spirit. The composer has tried his hand at everything from folk to jazz to classical over the years, and he has collaborated with everyone from Pete Seeger to Leonard Bernstein.
