We can barely disguise our love for Ty Segall here. He hits that sweet spot of garage, psych-rock, and straightforward rock ‘n’ roll that’s so hard to find these days. His latest album, Manipulator, is another stellar piece of work from him, one of his best albums until he puts out another one in a few weeks or so. “The Singer” is one of the more mellow moments off of the album, but this vintage slice of garage-psych builds up just when it really needs to. Segall heads back to the garage in the video for “The Singer,” and he’s joined by the ghostly apparitions of his band. It’s just freaky enough for our tastes. You can check out the video below.
