The New Basement Tapes–the supergroup formed to write new music to lyrics Bob Dylan wrote during the famed Basement Tapes sessions–made their television debut last night on The Tonight Show in advance of the release of their debut album, Lost On The River. Elvis Costello fronted the group–which also includes Marcus Mumford, Jim James, Rhiannon Giddens of Carolina Chocolate Drops, and Taylor Goldsmith from Dawes–for a performance of the gospel-tinged title track. You can watch the performance below.
Lost On The River is out today on Harvest/Electromagnetic.
