You could call Sons Of Bill a folk group or a country band, but that would be a bit too reductive; there’s much more to them than that. There’s an ambition to what they do, a desire to rise above the simpler trappings of Americana and achieve something great. It’s a quality that impressed producer Ken Coomer, the former Wilco drummer who knows a thing or two about trying not to box oneself in to one particular sound or genre.
