It turns out that the rumors are true: Bob Dylan’s next album will be a full-length tribute to Frank Sinatra. Dylan’s tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes will be titled Shadows In The Night, and it will see release on Columbia Records on February 3rd.
“It was a real privilege to make this album,” Dylan said in a statement. “I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time but was never brave enough to approach 30-piece complicated arrangements and refine them down for a five-piece band.” Dylan, who also produced the album under his pseudonym Jack Frost, noted that he and his band recorded each song live in one or two takes, without overdubbing or multiple track recording.
“I don’t see myself as covering these songs,” Dylan added. “They’ve been covered enough. Buried, in fact. What me and my band are doing is uncovering them.”
