While Modest Mouse have toured extensively over the past few years, the famed indie rock band has not released any new material since their 2007 album We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. Now, it seems like that’s all about to change: according to a report in REVOLT, the band are preparing to release their first new album in eight years at the beginning of 2015.

Speculation started when Modest Mouse joined Instagram and immediately posted a photo of a white-label 7-inch record with “Lampshades On Fire” written on the label. Whether or not that song ends up being the first single remains to be seen, but a spokesperson from Epic Records (the band’s record company) confirmed that a new Modest Mouse record would be on the way next year.
