Last night, the organizers of Bonnaroo announced their lineup to anyone who called their telephone hotline last night. If you did not call in (and given how popular telephone hotlines are these days, we wouldn’t blame you), it’s not a problem: we have the lineup here for you. Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons, and Kendrick Lamar will be headlining the fest, which also features such big names as Robert Plant, Florence + The Machine, My Morning Jacket, Ben Folds, and Alabama Shakes.
For Mumford & Sons, their appearance at this year’s festival will be a triumphant return of sorts: the group were originally supposed to headline Bonnaroo in 2013 but were forced to cancel after bassist Ted Dwane had to have surgery to remove a tumor in his brain. Jack Johnson filled in for them that year.
The undercard for Bonnaroo is massive, as always, and it features even more great artists. Those include Gary Clark, Jr., Spoon, The War On Drugs, Mac DeMarco, Dawes, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Hiss Golden Messenger, Sturgill Simpson, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Earth Wind & Fire, Temples, Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Trampled By Turtles, Rhiannon Giddens, Earls Of Leicester, Pokey LaFarge, and more.
Bonnaroo takes place on June 11th-14th at The Farm in Manchester, Tennessee. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, January 17th, at 12 noon EST on the Bonnaroo website.
