Brooklyn-based psych kids Sky Picnic sound like a trippy throwback to the late 1960s. The band crafts a heady mix of lilting psychedelic sounds and hard-driving rock for something that’s not too harsh or too mellow; in fact, it’s just right. “Most Of A Box Of Winter,” the instrumental track off of their upcoming debut album Her Dawn Wardrobe, is a perfect distillation of what makes the band so great. Deeming vocals and lyrics unnecessary for this song, Sky Picnic instead craft something hypnotic with swirling, inter-twining acoustic and electric guitars with a few crashing drum parts to keep you down on Earth.
