On his new album Static Noise, singer/songwriter Brian Lopez demonstrated a considerable amount of growth as a writer and as a musician. The album’s title track shows a particular maturity from Lopez, who reaches that aching, melancholy sweet spot that fuels the very apt comparisons to Jeff Buckley. In the video for “Static Noise,” which premiered yesterday on The Fire Note, Lopez and director Nadine Roselle have created something hypnotic to go with the song. Alternately beautiful and unsettling, the clip does a fantastic job of evoking the images in Lopez’s lyrics. You can check out the video below, and West Coast fans can catch Lopez on tour this month.
