Deer Tick recently celebrated their tenth anniversary with a six-night residency at Brooklyn Bowl which culminated with a New Year’s Eve blowout featuring a fan-assembled setlist. Special guests (such as Tommy Stinson, Sharon Van Etten, and Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith) came out for the entire residency as they performed classic albums by Lou Reed, Devo, and Elvis Costello, but the band may have saved the best for last as they rung in the new year. To close out their residency, Deer Tick brought out the inimitable Stevie Nicks for a rendition of the Fleetwood Mac classic “Rhiannon.” Frontman John McCauley’s mother and his wife Vanessa Carlton joined the band as backup singers for the performance, as well. Damn good way to ring in the new year, if you ask us. You can watch the full performance below:
