Anne McCue’s sixth studio album, Blue Sky Thinkin’, finds her exploring a new, jazzier style, a departure from her previous country and rock influenced work.
Launching her solo career in the early 2000s with the critically acclaimed album Roll, McCue has since traveled the world from her home country of Australia and back, finally settling in Nashville where she now lives and writes. While creating her latest album, McCue drew on her love of jazz, blues and the music of the ’20s and ’30s to explore a new genre in her songbook and create an homage to the music of a bygone era.
Fans in the northeast will no doubt be treated to a performance that draws from her multitude of musical styles when she plays at Atwood’s Tavern in Cambridge, MA on February 11. For more info and to purchase tickets, click here.
