Photographer and folksinger Henry Diltz will appear on CBS Sunday Morning this Sunday, February 8 to tell some of the stories behind his famous photographs.
Diltz began his career as a founding member of the Modern Folk Quartet and, when that group disbanded, transitioned into a career as a rock ‘n’ roll photographer. His background as a musician and his easygoing demeanor have allowed him to gain the trust of the artists he photographs, resulting in a large catalog of well known, intimate photographs.
Diltz’s best known photos include the image of Neil Young shown at the right as well as album covers for the Doors, the Lovin Spoonful, and Stephen Stills, among many others. He is a co-founder of the Morrison Hotel Galleries, which specialize in fine art rock ‘n’ roll photography.
