Sharon Jones has been an inspiring figure in the past few years. She has fought and overcame a bout with pancreatic cancer, and she’s back on the stage again after her last album, Give The People What They Want, was delayed so that she could get treatment. Since she’s come back, it’s been as if she never left. Last night, Jones returned to The Late Show With David Letterman sans the Dap-Kings, who were stranded at an airport in Memphis. Turning instead to her backup singers The Dapettes and Paul Shaffer’s CBS Orchestra, Jones delivered a powerful rendition of “Making Up and Breaking Up.” You can watch the full performance below.
