At times melancholy and at times uplifting, Over The Rhine’s music is always compelling. Over the course of 13 albums, the folk duo have managed to keep things fresh and exciting; they always place a focus on melody and songcraft over everything else, and we’re all the better for it. Their latest album, Blood Oranges In The Snow, finds the group at their most harrowing as they explore the darkness and melancholy of the holiday season. It’s one of those holiday albums that actually works year round (at least, we think it is.) The band are out on the road right now, and they’ll be performing at Portland’s Aladdin Theater in what is sure to be an unforgettable show. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
