Built to Spill, the pride of Boise, Idaho, released a new song, “Never Be The Same” as a preview for their forthcoming album Untethered Moon “Never Be The Same” is the second song that the band has released from Untethered Moon, following last month’s release of “Living Moon.”
Untethered Moon, Built to Spill’s first new album in six years and eighth overall features a new lineup for the band, with drummer Steve Gere and bassist Jason Albertini joining Built to Spill leader and mainstay, guitarist/vocalist Doug Martsch. Despite the lineup changes, the new songs indicate that Untethered Moon will be much like previous Built to Spill albums, with Martsch’s melodic, nasally vocals and unique, knotty guitar work predominant.
Digital and CD versions of Untethered Moon will be released on April 21, with vinyl copies of the album available three days earlier as a part of this year’s Record Store Day promotion. Listen to “Never Be The Same” below:
