Yonder Mountain String Band are nominally a bluegrass band, but the music they play doesn’t always fall strictly into that category. The band’s music is influenced from all different kinds of artists and sounds, from bluegrass icons like Bill Monroe and Del McCoury to less-than-likely inspirations like punks Bad Religion and indie rockers Grandaddy. Regulars at festivals like Bonnaroo and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the band seem right at home onstage where they can stretch their sound out and find new shades of grey. This year, the band’s tour finds them heading to Wyoming for a night at the Pink Garter Theater. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
