Rock legend Neil Young has just announced the details for his newest record entitled, The Monsanto Years. The record is slated for a release smack in the middle of June and will feature two of Willie Nelson’s sons, Lukas and Micah, with whom Young performed at a secret show last weekend.. The album has been said to consist of “politically/ecologically-charged” songs, most likely criticizing food industry conglomerate Monsanto.
For those that don’t know, Monsanto is responsible for a great deal of genetically modified food in the US. They have gained notoriety through high-profile lawsuits involving biological patents.
The Monsanto Years will be Young’s third new record in the last couple of years, following two records which were produced by Jack White. The Monsanto Years will be released on June 16th through Reprise Records. Neil will also be heading out on tour this summer; tour dates are listed below:

Neil Young is amazing. I am so happy he is bringing attention on the poison stream we call food nowadays. I am concerned about glyphosate, the chemical in Roundup, for its effect on the human gut microbiome. I think it’s making us all meaner and more obedient.
