Canadian folk duo Whitehorse and singer/songwriter Noah Gundersen have always seemed like kindred spirits musically, so it’s no surprise that they’ve been on tour together this year. While on the road in Canada, though, the trio (along with Noah’s sister Abbi, who has also been touring with them) decided to give fans a treat while in a guitar shop in Saskatchewan. The four set up with microphones and a camera and recorded a version of “Helpless,” the Neil Young composition that appears on Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s 1970 opus Deja Vu. The group more than do it justice, relying on a simple arrangement and gorgeous harmonies. You can check out the performance below. (via Rolling Stone Country)
