The word “con brio” is a musical term meaning a direction with great vigor and energy. The band Con Brio means the same thing. The genre-bending soul, funk, R&B San Francisco-based band have won over rowdy crowds at countless gigs with their dance music, live energy, and creativity. Led by young frontman Ziek McCarter, the seven-piece group constantly expands their talent by putting out unique singalongs to vibe to all night long.
At the BottleRock concert in Napa Valley a few months ago, Con Brio teamed up with Jam In The Van, a Youtube series that tracks great music to perform in their Jam Van. Performing their track “California Cowboy”, Con Brio let loose with psychedelic beats, soulful percussion, and smooth, slick, sexy vocals. In three minutes, the guys of Con Brio worked hard to piece together a slew of individually fantastic elements: steady, modern vocals, consistent drum beats, groovy trumpet and saxophone, funky keyboard rhythms, warped basslines and calm guitar. With their performance of “California Cowboy”, Con Brio constructed a strong, cohesive modern funk song bustling with confidence and charismatic energy.
