Veteran singer/songwriter/guitarist has long been a jack of all trades, working in genres ranging from bluegrass to country to folk to roots and beyond, while playing with and producing the likes of Gillian Welch, Robyn Hitchcock, Ryan Adams and Old Crow Medicine Show. Despite sometimes disappearing behind the shadows of his collaborators, Rawlings has, in recent years, made more of a name for himself personally, releasing two albums as Dave Rawlings Machine. The band’s most recent, 2015’s Nashville Obsolete, garnered stellar reviews for its ability to reinvigorate time-worn genres. And nowhere does Rawlings’ energy come through more than on stage. Rawlings will be criss-crossing the country well into the new year, and, at the end of this month, those in Chicago will be able to catch him at The Vic. For tickets and info, click here.
