A treat for both Bowie fanatics and neophytes, Parlophone Records recently released David Bowie Five Years 1969-1973.

This 10-album box set includes his first six studio albums (David Bowie aka Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars, Aladdin Sane and PinUps), two classic live albums, the 2003 mix of Ziggy Stardust and a brand new compilation entitled Re: Call 1.

This two-disc set gathers hard-to-find tracks including non-album singles, seldom-heard single edits, and B-sides.

Lastly, the box set’s companion book compiles rare photos, essays from producers Tony Visconti and Ken Scott, original press reviews and a foreword by Kinks frontman Ray Davies.

All in all, this is the perfect set for anyone who wants to listen to the man behind glam.
