New Jersey-born singer/songwriter, Leanne Weiss, will release her Momentum EP this Friday. Weiss first began singing at age nine and performed professionally after college as a singer and an actress. She started off writing songs for local artists and went on to release her own country EP, For Love, in 2013.
“She’s a force to be reckoned with”- a line in the hard-hitting title track of the EP. With influences like Faith Hill, Celine Dion and Carrie Underwood, it’s no wonder why she has been praised by outlets such as Country Music is Love and Got Country, who say, “With a voice easily comparable to greats such as Trisha Yearwood and Sara Evans, Leanne is well rounded in all aspects of conveying the truest country sound.”
Fans of Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood or the Band Perry should absolutely listen to this EP. Standout tracks include “Straightshooter” which is sure to be the next strong country girl anthem, and her single “Throwback” (that chorus is so catchy). The entire album is available below.
