For much of this year, legendary rocker Patti Smith has been out on the road performing her landmark 1975 album, Horses (celebrating its 40th anniversary this year). She’s been across the U.S. and abroad and, when deciding where to end this whirlwind year–with a string of three nights in a row (starting on 12/29), no less–Smith chose San Francisco and the Fillmore. Not only is the Fillmore, deservedly, one of the most venerated venues in rock history, it’s also one of the first places where Smith originally performed Horses in 1975.
“We are proud to bring Horses to the Fillmore,” says Smith, “which we consider hallowed ground, containing with its walls so much innovative and spiritual energy. We look forward to bringing our irreverent thoroughbred to the city in which it first freely galloped.”
