Caleb Caudle is ready to provide some perspective after some cathartic life-affirmation on his latest record, Carolina Ghost.
Hailed by critics as, “the next Jason Isbell,” Caudle’s purist country approach paints a frank narrative rooted in an unassuming Americana sound. Following 2014’s acclaimed Paint Another Layer On My Heart, Caudle has not only admitted to maturing but also to embracing new beginnings.
“This record is all about making life changes and coming home,” said Caudle. “I kicked booze about a year and a half ago and moved back to North Carolina and fell in love. So it all feels like a new start, really.”
Offering a caustic yet reverent outlook on Carolina Ghost, Caudle’s describes his fourth studio release as both a retrospection and therapeutic experience. Caudle’s “White Dove’s Wing” from the new record showcases Caudle’s idyllic vision of American culture and a fascination with progressing towards a vista of amelioration. Rife with slide guitar underneath Caudle’s lush vocals, the track is a prime example of roots-inspired wisdom.
Slated for a release on February 26 through This Is American Music. Caudle begins his spring tour February 19th at Freddie’s Attic in Georgia, a stop at The Cave Chapel Hill, NC on February 24th and an album release party on February 25th at The Garage in Winston-Salem. Preorder Carolina Ghosts at Caudle’s bandcamp site and visit his official website for more tour dates and information.
