Experimental folk-rock band Blitzen Trapper have been doling out high-powered rock ‘n roll, alt-country records for 15 years. With eight albums and much critical acclaim under their belt, the Portland-based band has headed out for a Southern Fling March 2016 tour, hitting five Southeast states and playing eight shows in support of their latest record, All Across This Land, released last October. So far they’ve riled up the Revelry Room in Chattanooga and played The Pour House in Charleston but they’ve still got a few more tour dates to play.
On March 16th, Blitzen Trapper will be performing a special show at Third Man Records in Nashville, the only live venue in the world to record performances direct-to-acetate. The concert will be recorded in The Blue Room, without any editing but mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Vance Powell and instantly cut to vinyl. Even if you’re not lucky enough to catch a show or two, the tour will culminate in a first-time vinyl release of their 2005 record Field Rexx.
