Individually, they’ve racked up enough accolades to last forever, but combined, Cooder-White-Skaggs have over 20 Grammy awards and a loyal, lifelong following. Last year, the combination of multi-instrumentalist Ry Cooder, country singer Sharon White, and beloved bluegrass musician Ricky Skaggs had fans and publications going crazy with the announcement that they would be a touring trio. Now, with critics still roaring, Cooder-White-Skaggs are embarking again with their “Songs For The Good People” tour starting at the end of this month and going through mid-April. Playing 13 shows in 6 U.S. states and a few in Canada, the trio will be joined by Cooder’s son Joachim on drums, Nashville-based bassist Mark Fain, and occasionally the other two-thirds of Americana country group The Whites for a complete seven-piece ensemble wild with energy. With powerful, pounding instrumentation, multi-part harmonies, and classic roots rhythms, the tour will be a rare homage to the grandest Americana of our time performed by three virtuosos.
