Now in its 14th year, Forecastle Festival is back with great headliners and awesome locations for after-hours shows. This year’s headliners include the Avett Brothers performing Friday, July 15th, GRAMMY award winners Alabama Shakes on Saturday, July 16th, and Death Cab for Cutie and Ryan Adams performing on the same stage Sunday, July 17th. Other great acts include Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Grouplove, and Gary Clark Jr. The festival will take place on the banks of the Ohio River at Waterfront Park overlooking the skyline of downtown Louisville. The full lineup can be found here. Foodies can enjoy an array of food options located on the Kentucky Landing where local food trucks will stationed out.
Along with the main stage events, Forecastle Festival will host separately ticketed late-night shows on Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 at Headliners Music Hall and the Belle of Louisville steamboat, hosted by Bell’s Brewery and powered by DO502. One-man band Robert DeLong will be performing on Friday, while on Saturday local Kentuckians 23 String Band will bring to the stage their unique bluegrass stylings, supported by the Pass and Niles Foley. The historic 100 year old Belle of Louisville steamboat will feature performances by Dr. Dog on Friday, with veteran producer RJD2 closing out the festivities on Saturday. The shows are all 18 years and older, doors opening each night at 11pm.
