Always dreamed of jamming with Jack Casady? Trading licks with Larry Campbell? Singing the blues with Eric Bibb?
At Jorma Kaukonen’s Fur Peace Ranch, you can make it happen!
In 1989, Jorma and Vanessa Kaukonen purchased a plot of land in the foothills of Southeast Ohio and founded Fur Peace Ranch; “a ranch that grows guitar players,” as Jorma says. 2107 marks the 20th anniversary of the Guitar Camp opening its doors to students, and since the beginning, the Ranch has grown to encompass cabins, workshop space, a library, a store, an art gallery (named the Psylodelic Gallery as a clever homage to its home in a grain Silo and leaning towards psychadelic memorabilia) and a dining hall, as well as “The Station,” a theater that hosts concerts performed by the world-class musicians… that just happen to be your teachers for the weekend.
Today, the Ranch announced its 2017 Workshop schedule, featuring classes classes like “Jorma Electric” with Kaukonen, “The Guitar of Bill Kirchen: Where Country Meets Blues” with Kirchen himself, “Songs of Bob Dylan” with Happy Traum, “Finding Your Inner Blues Troubadour” with Eric Bibb, “Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar” with Larry Campbell, “Leading the Way with Bass Guitar” with Jack Casady, “Songwriting: Storytelling and Detail” with Gretchen Peters and SO many more.
Classes fill up quickly, so don’t wait to get your spot!
