With over five decades of material and more than 100 albums recorded, Mississippi-born John Lee Hooker was, without a doubt, a giant of the blues genre, cultivating his own driving boogie style and paving the way for more greats to follow.
To celebrate his never-ending legacy, Acrobat Music has released a comprehensive, four CD collection of Hooker’s early work from 1949 to 1962. The collection includes 102 of his biggest blues and R&B singles under major label Vee-Jay Records and the now defunct labels, Chess and Modern. Included with the collection is an all-inclusive booklet providing information about Hooker’s discography and recording sessions.
