Michael Kiwanuka is a Bristish soul musician who grew up in Muswell Hill, North London. After completing his A-Levels at Fortismere School in 2005, he went on to study at the School of Media, Arts and Design at the University of Westminister. Before going solo, Kiwanuka played with Chipmunk and Bashv as a session guitarist before working as a solo artist. At the Oxford in Kentish Town, he performed his first proper gig. With hard work and dedication, he signed with Communion Records, which released his debut album Tell Me A Tale in 2011. He also supported Adele on her Adele Live tour in 2011 and at her 2011 gig at the iTunes Festival. Along with all of those great accomplishments, he signed a deal with Polydor Records in 2011 and was named as the winner of BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll.
Kiwanuka is excited to announce that he’ll be touring North America this fall in support of his sophomore album Love & Hate — recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Grammy Award winning Brian Joesph Burton, AKA Dangermouse. The new honest and ambitious record will surely secure his position as one of the most exciting and renowned talents of our time.
