Childers may only be 22-years old, but it would be a mistake to underestimate him. Clad in his signature suit, he’s a serious guitar-slinger, who taught himself to play at 13. He’s grown a dedicated fanbase organically, always playing his heart out to his audience, no matter the size, whether a packed crowd in his current home in Nashville or in small bars around the southeast, where he regularly tours.
To make his full length album, Naked Poetry, he turned to Pledge Music, and his fans came through, big time. Still a month away from the album’s April 28th release date, the campaign (which you can check out here) has already reached 240% of its goal. For Childers, it was a no brainer what to do with a chunk of that extra money— make a music video, and bring his fans along for the ride.
Today, Elmore is premiering the result: the music video for the album’s debut single, “Music Pulls You Through.” Childers notes, “Music does pull me through the ups and downs of life. The fans have been so supportive that I decided to bring a lot of them in and just have a party at the studio, which is what you see in the video.”
The video is a perfect companion to Childers’ sunny, uplifting song. It’s an upbeat antidote to any bad day, with a jazzy touch of horns and the danceable shuffle of drums. Childers leads the charge with his silky smooth croon, acoustic guitar and big smile. The video features Childers and his Black Tie Affair jamming out as fans film them with different kinds of cameras, offering a fun shift of perspective throughout the song. By the end, it’s one big party, as the song does exactly as promised—puts you in a headbobbing, toetapping state of mind.
