Jim Rodford, bassist for some of the most influential and cutting-edge British groups in the 20th Century, has passed away following a fall.

Rodford co-founded Argent in 1969, with his cousin Rod Argent. He joined the Kinks in 1978 and played with them until the group disbanded in 1996, then joined the Zombies, whom he’d known since their formation in 1964, and toured with the band until his death.
