One of the most in-demand horn sections for both recording sessions and tours, The Texas Horns back some of the biggest names in the roots music world, but The Horns have stepped up front. Now, backed by an all-star group of supporting musicians, they strut their collective stuff on their own album of blues, soul and roots music with their Severn Record debut, Get Here Quick, on May 24. Special guests include singers Curtis Salgado, John Nemeth, Gary Nicholson, Guy Forsyth and Carolyn Wonderland as well as guitarists Ronnie Earl, Anson Funderburgh, Johnny Moeller, Denny Freeman, Derek O’Brien and Jonn Del Toro Richardson.
The Texas Horns will celebrate the new disc’s release with a number of special shows, each with one of the guests on the album, and end with two shows with Buddy Guy, then join Jimmie Vaughan in May at London’s Royal Albert Hall for shows with Eric Clapton.
Saxophonist Mark Kazanoff gave Elmore his take on this Premiered song:
“’Guitar Town’ features a kickass vocal from Guy Forsyth. This is a great original song from John Mills, with solos from Mills, Al and myself. The hook line manages to mention guitars and saxophone in the same breath, and sets The Texas Horns instrumental wheels in motion. Anson Funderburgh represents the guitar side with stellar fills and solos, trading with each of The Texas Horns.”

The Texas Horns are Mark “Kaz” Kazanoff (tenor sax), John Mills (baritone sax) and Al Gomez (trumpet).
