Glen Campbell’s breakthrough album Rhinestone Cowboy stills stands as one of the greatest country albums of all time, thanks both to a strong collection of songs and some inspired performances from Campbell himself. This year, the album is getting reissued for the first time with a new, remastered version of the album and some rare B-sides. Among these is “Record Collector’s Dream,” which originally saw release as the b-side to “Country Boy (You Got Your Feet In LA).” The piano-driven tune features Campbell’s wry perspective as he declares himself “a record collector’s dream” with more than a hint of sarcasm. Little did he know just where Rhinestone Cowboy would take him. You can listen to “Record Collector’s Dream” below.
The 40th anniversary edition of Rhinestone Cowboy comes out on March 31st.
