As a part of their never ending request to make the public aware that they are in fact still a band and have a new album (the recently released The Magic Whip), Britpop legacy group Blur played The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, their first American television appearance in 15 years.
With a quartet of backing singers and, for some reason, a second drummer, the band plodded through The Magic Whip track “Ong Ong.” While Damon Albarn and co. did not seem particularly thrilled to be back on American screens, Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon seemed characteristically enthusiastic about their performance.
While Blur has not announced any plans to tour the United States, they are playing a free show tonight in Brooklyn at the Music Hall of Williamsburg as a part of a concert series by the Converse sneakers company. Watch Blur play “Ong Ong” on the Tonight Show below:
